YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea - The Eighth Army commanding general saluted U.S. troops in South Korea during the holiday season.
Eighth Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Bernard S. Champoux wished soldiers, civilians and families a happy holiday season in a safety message.
Champoux recognized the men and women of the top U.S. Army formation in South Korea for their accomplishments during the year that marked the 60th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty and Korean War Armistice.
“I look forward to the many great things we will accomplish together next year,” said Champoux, a native of Pittsfield, Mass. “I salute you and thank you for defending liberty on Freedom’s Frontier.”
“Our nation and our alliance are stronger because of you,” said Champoux. “Eighth Army is strong and getting stronger.”
