FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive Aug. 21 at his off-post residence in Killeen, Texas.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Terry Lyndel Brewer, 48 whose home of record is listed as Putnam, Callahan County, Texas, entered active duty service in December 1986. He was an aviator assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since March 2011.
Brewer deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2004 to March 2005, October 2006 to January 2008 and from May 2009 to May 2010. He also deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from May 2011 to May 2012.
Brewer's awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, five Air Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, nine Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, five Iraqi Campaign Medals with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medals, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbons, Driver and Mechanic Badge. Aviation Badge and Master Army Aviator Badge.
