TARIN KOT, AFGHANISTAN - Sgt. Gina DeJarnette, an intelligence analyst with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Gina DeJarnette, an intelligence analyst with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
DeJarnette, a native of Monterey, Calif., and a graduate of Central High School in Grand Forks, N.D. and University of Minnesota – Crookston in Crookston, Minn., arrived in theater in November 2012. DeJarnette has served in the military for three years and this is her first deployment.
Many soldiers have been away from their families for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, DeJarnette had a few words for her father, retired Sgt. Maj. Robert Richter.
“I want to say Happy Father’s Day to my father, who gave 26 years to the Army, all the way from Afghanistan!” DeJarnette said. “I love you and I will be home soon!”
DeJarnette is scheduled to return to Fort Stewart, Ga., in the next few months.
