FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. - Blanchfield Army Community Hospital commander Col. Paul R. Cordts and Spc. Jacob Oe of the 594th Transportation Company, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division team up to cut a cake during the National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week celebration April 22 in the hospital laboratory.

Laboratory staff members are spending the week of April 22 to 26 to educate patients and fellow BACH team members about the important contributions medical laboratory professionals make to the overall patient care experience.

"Nearly every patient requires lab work, blood and testing, and tissue sampling to help providers determine diagnoses and treatment plans," said BACH Laboratory Chief Lt. Col. Jason Kendelhardt.

Fort Campbell Soldiers like Oe depend on laboratory professionals to ensure they are medically ready to deploy as well as verify health once the Soldiers return from a deployment.
