FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive at his off-post residence April 21. Bell County Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced the Soldier deceased at 7:15 a.m. the same day.
Specialist Elliot Rafael Davis, 26, whose home of record is listed as McDonough, Ga., entered the military in January 2008 as a ammunition specialist. He arrived at Fort Hood in July 2008 and was assigned to 664th Ordnance Company, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, since December 2008.
Davis deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from December 2008 to December 2009.
Davis' awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicle.
Circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation.
