FORT HOOD, Texas - Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, III Corps commander, and III Corps' Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Schroeder cased the III Corps colors at 10 a.m. April 4 at the III Corps flag polehere.
The casing signified the beginning of the unit's yearlong deployment to Afghanistan where the command will be in charge of the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command Headquarters in Kabul. In the coming weeks, more than 500 soldiers will deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
