SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the Week is Chief Warrant Officer 4 Stephanie “Trudy” Truax, tactical operations officer /UH-60 standardizations and personnel recovery officer for Third Army/ARCENT.
Truax, a St. Anne, Ill., native, joined Third Army/ARCENT after serving with the 1st Squadron, 52nd Aviation Regiment in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The mother of four has more than 26 years of service in the U.S. Army.
Truax joined the military as a radiological technologist and wanting more from the Army; Truax received her warrant as an Aviator and served in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom during her career.
Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Suspense/thriller.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Korean and Greek.
Q: What are your goals?
A: To be able to give back to others what I have learned.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: All four of my children.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: No hobbies, I have four children.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: Amelia Earhart, to ask about aviation when she started, and to be able to tell her where we have taken aviation.
