MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, N.C. - If a Marine or Sailor is looking to improve their marriage, seeking personal growth or wants to improve their family resiliency, then the Chaplain’s Religious Enrichment Development Operation may be just what the counselor ordered.

The CREDO program has 11 locations worldwide that aid active-duty service members and their families by improving their quality of life and job performance.

The marriage enrichment weekend is based off of Dr. John Gottman’s “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.”

“The marriage enrichment weekend allows couples to find new respect and passion for one another,” said Lt. Christopher A. Adams, CREDO deputy director. “Couples who attend this weekend learn how to positively impact their relationships and it helps them remember why they fell in love with each other.”

The “warrior resiliency” personal growth experience that CREDO offers is focused on individuals and gives them a chance to reflect upon their life and choices.

“The reflection that can occur during the warrior resiliency weekend allows positive life changing decisions to be made,” said Adams. “We use various tools such as group discussion and video clips to help find a deeper understanding of themselves and how they interact with each other.”

CREDO also offers “family resilience weekend” which focuses on developing better family dynamics and positive interactions with one another.

“The family resilience weekend is designed for the whole family but children in attendance must be at least five years old due to the program,” said Adams. “We focus on many family dynamics such as suggestions on how to properly balance your time and parenting tips and advice.”

All the events have limited space available and require advanced sign-up. For more information, call 910-450-1668.
