SAN DIEGO — The Space and Navy Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) information technology division Chief Engineer Ron Broersma has received one of the defense community’s top awards for his significant contributions to the science and technology, test and evaluation communities.

Broersma was cited by the HPCMP’s associate director for networking for his outstanding support of the organization. His technical expertise and contributions to the Defense Research and Engineering Network Program, where Broersma has served as chief engineer for the past decade, were recognized as “second to none.”

In addition to receiving the DoD award, the IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) Forum, a worldwide consortium of leading Internet service providers, national research and education networks, recently honored Broersma as one of four recipients of its IPv6 Forum Internet Pioneer Award.
