FCAC Grant Allen, Surface Combat System Training Command AEGIS Training and Readiness Center, is piped aboard the Chiefs Mess on Sept. 16, when Naval Support Activity South Potomac welcomed 11 new chief petty officers during a pinning ceremony at Naval Support Facility (NSF) Dahlgren. Capt. John Nadder, NSASP commanding officer, welcomed the new chiefs and thanked their families. “Family and friends, today marks the first time these leaders will wear the anchors reserved for the distant, privileged few who serve in the Armed Forces and are referred to as United States Navy chief petty officers,” he said. “Today all around the globe, current and retired chief petty officers are standing proudly in anticipation, to watch how this class of selectees will impact the Sailors of today, and make their mark on the Navy.
