Three individuals are seated in a panel discussion setting at a 'Velocity' branded event, likely related to Army research and technology. A civilian man in a suit is speaking and gesturing with his hands, flanked by two female U.S. Army soldiers in camouflage uniforms. The setting appears to be a modern conference or briefing room.

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Robert Miller, former surgeon general of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, kicks off the Joint Trauma System Strategic Leadership Transition conference in San Antonio, Texas, Aug. 13. During the conference, outgoing JTS director, U.S. Army Col. (Dr.) Jennifer Gurney, middle, handed over the reins to the new JTS chief, U.S. Air Force Col. (Dr.) Valerie Sams. Miller encouraged participants to reflect on how far the JTS progressed under Gurney’s leadership, and how confident the organization should be to meet new challenges with Sams at the helm.
