    Norfolk Naval Shipyard

    Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) team members from Lifting and Handling Department Crane and Rigging Operations (Code 740) and Structural and Rigging (Code 714) were recognized by Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Kavon Hakimzadeh Aug. 31 for their outstanding performance during the three-phase testing of a capstan supporting the mooring of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) while at Naval Station Norfolk. The team overcame several challenges, including extreme weather conditions, executing the mission with discipline, compliance, and professionalism, which assisted them in safely achieving the required testing parameters to support the carrier.
