Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Operations Security (OPSEC) coordinators and Department Security Coordinators (DSCs) stand alongside the OPSEC Purple Dragon mascot to promote the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) "Clean Desk Policy" and the "Shred-as-You-Go" initiative. These initiatives are designed to protect critical information, prevent unauthorized disclosures, and keep safeguarding practices at the forefront of the shipyard's daily operations.

The Purple Dragon serves as a reminder to the workforce that protecting sensitive military and industrial data starts at every workspace. Shredding sensitive documents immediately and maintaining a secure, clean workspace directly supports the defense of our fleet and our national security.
