FORT SCOTT, Kan. — Soldiers assigned to the 1st Infantry Division Mounted Color Guard participate in a living-history encampment at Fort Scott National Historic Site in Fort Scott, Kansas, Aug. 29, 2026. During the event, Soldiers conducted mounted demonstrations, interacted with visitors and highlighted the history of Soldiers who served at Fort Scott and across the American frontier. The event connects today’s Soldiers with the Army’s past while providing visitors an opportunity to experience military history firsthand and strengthening the relationship between the 1st Infantry Division and surrounding communities.
