On August 27, 2026, the senior leadership of the 35th Engineer Brigade visited General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital to formally present prestigious awards to key hospital personnel and the Soldier Readiness Processing team. The 35th ENG BDE, a vital combat engineer formation of the Missouri Army National Guard stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, operates under the command of COL Rena Alailima and CSM Heather Javersak. Ensuring the medical readiness of this unit is directly tied to the success of its critical deployment missions and broader National Security objectives.

The recognition ceremony was attended by distinguished leaders from both organizations. Representing the 35th ENG BDE alongside the command team were CW2 Justin Ramsey, MAJ Richard Branson, and CPT Ann Robbins.
The hospital leadership in attendance included the Command Team, COL Angela Diebal-Lee, and CSM Johnny Thompson, alongside the Deputy Commander for Readiness, LTC Jasper, Kenneatta.

The awards were presented to recognize the extraordinary initiative and tireless dedication of SFC Matheus P. Azevedo, SFC Shawn Pennington, MAJ John Kozlik, SPC Ty Kelley, Ms. Addelle George, Ms. Terry Bruno, Ms. Kim Baird, and Ms. Reanna Gross.

Facing compressed timelines and high-volume deployment requirements, the SRP team demonstrated exemplary leadership, seamless cross-departmental coordination, and absolute professionalism to validate the medical deployability of the brigade's personnel.
In recognition of their outstanding achievements and commitment to mission success, leadership conferred the State of Missouri Conspicuous Service Medal, the Missouri National Guard Commendation Ribbon, and the 35th Engineer Brigade Challenge Coin for Outstanding Achievement and Excellence.
