SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 25, 2026) Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Tiller, of Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio, speaks with former U.S. Air Force Surgeon General, retired Lt. Gen. Robert Miller, executive director of the Military Health Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, at the 2026 Command Reception held inside Stable Hall at the Pearl. The two discussed future research collaborations and scientific advances that may have an impact on warfighter and public health. Hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together the city’s military, business and civic communities together at for one of Military City USA's most meaningful events. Navy Medicine Research & Development (NMR&D) works alongside research partners in the civilian sphere, academia, industry, and other government agencies to drive support of Department of War objectives for a lethal fighting force and ensure U.S. service members have access to the latest scientific advances.
