    Sailors assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS San Diego (LPD 22) prepare to raise the ensign as the ship prepares to get underway from Sasebo, Japan, July 24, 2026. San Diego, assigned to Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 7 / Commander, Task Force (CTF) 76, is forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan. Within the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, ESG7 / CTF-76 is responsible for conducting expeditionary warfare operations with Navy and Marine Corps capabilities to support theater contingencies that range from crisis response to full combat operations.
