A Norfolk Naval Shipyard flyaway team was recently commended for superior support for resolving a major issue onboard a deployed aircraft carrier! The carrier’s Commanding Officer said the shipyard team traveled to the location without hesitation and “not only responded alongside my Sailors as if they were members of my crew, but accelerated work on the repair, attacking the problem 24/7 until we achieved success. Anyone who questions our Navy’s ability to maintain ships in a forward deployed location should meet this team. Folks like this are how we win.”
