U.S. Navy Capt. David Huljack, commodore, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, speaks with midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Washington, Boston University, and Tulane University during an office call in the command cave at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, Aug. 6, 2026. The midshipmen are participating in their summer cruise aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114), where they spend part of their summer receiving hands-on training from Navy Sailors operating in different fields within the surface warfare community. DESRON 15 is the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. U.S. 7th Fleet, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
