U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) Commander Col. Charles Seaberry (right) Command Sgt. Maj. Joshua Holthus (left), and other YPG personnel met with Yuma Sector Border Patrol leaders on July 14, 2026, receiving briefings and paying a visit to the international border in Yuma County.
“The visit with the Border Patrol is timely,” said Seaberry. “Right now YPG has an initiative with the Joint Interagency Task Force that will provide us collaborative solutions to integrate what they’re seeing in the drone world. That’s going to inform what we’ve been directed to look at from the President’s executive order on drone dominance.”
Since the establishment of Joint Interagency Task Force 401 by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth last August, U.S. Army Yuma Test Center has been designated as the primary, dedicated interagency Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems test and training range.
