In 2026, the Defense Health Agency rolled out ambient listening technology, which records and analyzes conversations between patients and providers during medical appointments, capturing clinical notes and reducing administrative burden on medical staff. The overwhelmingly positive effects of the technology improve medical currency for providers, extend continuity of warfighter care into life after the military, and support data-driven enhancement of medical care enterprise wide.
