FLEET ACTIVITIES YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 4, 2026) -- A plaque reading "Monument Construction" identifies three constuction companies and Yokohama Defense Facilities Administration Bureau Construction Department Civil Engineering Division who completed construction in March 1983 awaits removal June 4, 2026. The plaque was located on the back of the installation's decorative sign reading U.S. Fleet Activities Yokosuka Japan welcoming guests outside Club Alliance. The monument was placed in front of Club Alliance following the project's completion in 1983 before the club's grand opening ceremony May 27, 1983. (U.S. Navy photo by James Kimber)
