GERMERSHEIM, Germany -- First responders from the Lingenfeld Volunteer Fire Department and U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz’ Germersheim Fire Station 4 came together June 8 for a hands-on training session to review resources and equipment for mutual aid emergencies. During the truck-side instruction, firefighters practiced incident command, tactical operations, fire access, water supply and rapid intervention protocols. John Cruz, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Germersheim Army Depot site manager, said the training ensures international forces can respond to, mitigate and recover from incidents on- and off-post together. Cruz said future collaborative exercises will cover technical rescue, hazardous materials and structural firefighting.
