    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Sergeant Kaleb M. Ihde, a generator mechanic with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and native of Tulare, Calif., tightens a tourniquet on the leg of a simulated casualty during the practical application exercise of a combat lifesaver course in the well deck here, July 4. Marines and Sailors with the 31st MEU and crew of the USS Germantown completed a three-day intermediate medical course that taught them a range of field medicine skills from splinting an arm fracture to applying a tourniquet for an arterial bleed. The 31st MEU is currently deployed on the three ships of Amphibious Squadron 11 in support of a regularly scheduled patrol of the Asia Pacific region.
