U.S. Army Soldiers with the 104th Military Battalion, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, patrol the U.S.-Mexico border using the Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) in Del Rio, Texas, May 22, 2026. The utilization of the ISV increases mobility and allows units to cover more ground, enhancing detection of suspected illegal aliens attempting to cross the southern border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
