U.S. Navy Corpsmen with 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, and U.S. Border Patrol emergency medical technicians (EMT) participate in classroom instruction on emergency medical care in Douglas, Ariz., May 1, 2026. The interagency exercise allowed Border Patrol EMTs to obtain recertification while enabling military medical personnel to integrate with federal counterparts on standardized transfer of care and aeromedical evacuation protocols. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
