BREMERTON, Wash. – In conjunction with Defense Health Agency recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Sailors assigned to Naval Hospital Bremerton participate in a mental health screening training session, May 5, 2026. The comprehensive training is part of Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton Battle Ready Training Tuesday, a command-wide initiative focused on providing preparatory skills training primarily for hospital corpsman yet open to all staff members. The focus on mental health is designed to equip frontline personnel with the vital skills needed to recognize early warning signs of psychological distress, conduct initial behavioral health screenings, and effectively guide fellow service members toward appropriate care resources. This proactive initiative underscores the command’s ongoing commitment to strengthening force resilience, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, and ensuring a medically ready Fleet and Marine Force. For active-duty service members and beneficiaries seeking assistance, the NMRTC Bremerton Mental Health Clinic offers regular appointments and support services during standard clinic hours from Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed weekends and federal holidays). Additionally, the clinic provides daily safety check walk-in availability for active-duty personnel from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., as well as a dedicated active-duty drop-in hour every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for questions, resource information, and quick consultation..
