USACE completes beach renourishment, begins demobilization at Carolina and Kure beaches

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (April 2026) — Contractors remove pipeline and equipment from the shoreline following completion of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District coastal storm risk management project at Carolina and Kure beaches. The project placed nearly 2 million cubic yards of sand along approximately six miles of shoreline to reduce coastal storm risk and support recreation.
