1st Battalion “Bulldog,” 327 Infantry Regiment, 1st Mobile Brigade “Bastogne,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) conducted Platoon Live Fire Exercises (LFX) from April 11th through April 21, 2026. Platoon LFXs provide tough, realistic training under live conditions. The training focuses on breaching a wired obstacle and clearing a trench line in day and night conditions. Platoons fired every weapon system in their inventory from rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank weapons.
“Platoon LFX focuses on the fundamentals of the offense: surprise, concentration, audacity, and tempo,” stated Maj Schuyler VanBuren, Bulldog battalion executive officer. “This training in tough, realistic conditions prepares units to prevail and succeed in large-scale combat.”
