U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Commander and District Engineer, Colonel David W. Dake recognized Kendell M. Barber for her completion of the Enterprise Civilian Talent Acquisition Program, Army Fellows Program (AFP), during the District Townhall, March 20, 2026. Ms. Barber joined the Galveston District as an Equal Employment Opportunity specialist in 2023 after graduating Prairie View A&M, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She joined the AFP in 2024, formerly known as the DA Intern Program, which is a two-year civilian development initiative designed for recent graduates to launch careers within the U.S. Army through structured mentoring, training, and professional work assignments.
