U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Aaron Senseney, a crew chief assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 114th Aviation Regiment, prepares a UH-72 Lakota for a joint flight in Laredo, Texas, March 12, 2026. The Lakota is equipped with thermal camera technology that assists in precise detection and allows for the pilot to guide U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the apprehension of suspected illegal aliens in night operations. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
