Surgeon Cmdr. George Linville, a native of Seattle, Wash., stitches the hand of a patient with the aid of surgical technician Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Josue Schwarz, a native of Wilder, Idaho, aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Linville is the sole surgeon aboard the ship and has performed more than 450 surgeries during his time aboard.
