The Florida Army National Guard's 3-265th Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Regiment, based out of Sarasota, Florida, staged 12 AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Mobile Weapon Systems at Fort Polk's Joint Readiness Training Center March 9, 2026. The AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Mobile Weapon System is a self-propelled surface-to-air missile system that provides mobile, short-range air defense protection for ground units against helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, low-flying fixed-wing aircraft, and cruise missiles. The unit will spend the coming weeks participating in realistic, high-intensity training scenarios to prepare for real-world combat operations.
