U.S. Navy veteran Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class (HM3) (Ret.) Rey Jaime Pérez José, a former Fleet Marine Force (FMF) corpsman, poses for a portrait after being presented the Purple Heart during a ceremony hosted by the 1st Mission Support Command at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Pérez José, who served on active duty from July 2001 to December 2004 supporting Marine Corps units as an 8404 FMF corpsman, was recognized for his service, sacrifice and dedication to fellow service members more than two decades after his time in uniform.
