From Homeport to the icy terrain of Antarctica, Seabees waste no time turning training into action. Upon arrival at McMurdo Station, the team got straight to work, showing the skill, readiness, and determination that define the Seabees.The United States conducts Operation Deep Freeze since 1955 in support of the investigators and supporting personnel making up the U.S. Antarctic Program, which carries forward the nation’s goals of supporting the Antarctic Treaty, fostering cooperative research with other nations, protecting the Antarctic environment, and developing measures to ensure only equitable and wise use of resources.
