Madigan Army Medical Center has been recognized by the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) for its outstanding dedication to providing life-saving blood products to service members and their families, from blood donation to patient transfusion. Following a comprehensive ASBP inspection (August 25-28), the Armed Services Blood Bank Center - Pacific Northwest (ASBBC-PNW) and Madigan's Transfusion Services were recognized for their unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. The ASBP inspection team specifically highlighted the ASBBC-PNW’s success in meeting the mission requirements for blood collection, as well as the Transfusion Services' dedication to patient safety and optimized blood product utilization. Furthermore, the team was impressed by Madigan's innovative project focused on reducing blood product wastage, encouraging other military facilities to adopt similar strategies. This recognition underscores Madigan's commitment – through both the ASBBC-PNW and Transfusion Services – to supporting our warfighters, ensuring the availability of critical resources when and where they are needed most. It demonstrates the value of our team and their dedication to the military community we serve.
