Petty Officer 2nd Class Sammuel Goodwin, a hospital corpsman with 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif., speaks to Sailors from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Pendleton and Expeditionary Medical Facility 150 Alpha in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton library on Aug. 27, 2025. Goodwin distinguished himself on July 12, 2025, when he came to the aid of a motorcycle accident in south San Diego County and has been credited with saving the life of one of the accident victims. He spoke to the gathered Sailors about leadership, always being ready, and working outside their comfort zone.
