Sgt. Maj. Katrina O’Coin, (then Sgt. Speer) assigned to the 759th Forward Surgical Team
(Airborne) as a practical nursing specialist, works in the aid station with her team on Forward
Operating Base Orgun-E, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2005-
2006. O’Coin received a retroactive Combat Action Badge from Command Sgt. Maj. Robert
Atkinson, HRC senior enlisted adviser, during a June 18, 2025, ceremony. While deployed
