On July 30, 2025, Air Force Test Pilot School student 1st Lt. Molly Ellinger became the first student to fly the A-29 Super Tucano at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Acquired in 2024, The A-29 offers the school a dedicated spin instruction airplane, while also allowing testing of advanced avionics and weapon students for future test leaders. She was accompanied by Maj. Mateusz Borek, flight sciences assistant department chair and chief A-29 test pilot at the Air Force Test Pilot School. (Air Force Photo by James West)
