Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group TWO (ESG 2) Rear Adm. David Walt presents a Marine Corps Meritorious Mast to Operations Specialist First Class Carla Pisecco, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, July 16. Pisecco received the award in recognition of her leadership during Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 2025 supporting combined ESG-2 and 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade staffs aboard amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20). BALTOPS is the premier annual maritime-focused military exercise in the Baltic region. ESG-2 is the U.S. Navy’s east-coast lead for amphibious operations and expertise, with a staff postured to command or support operations in five separate combatant command areas of operation—across the spectrum of conflict and competition, ready to fight and win and at all times personifying its motto of Ready, Responsive, Resolute.
