The Puerto Rico National Guard reaches 106 years of service today honoring a proud legacy of sacrifice resilience and duty since its 1919 founding. Over more than a century the Guard has supported countless disaster relief missions defended the nation in global conflicts and safeguarded the Island during emergencies. Highlights include direct involvement in every major conflict engaged by the US and critical humanitarian responses to hurricanes such as Georges Maria and Fiona as well as humanitarian support abroad. The Guard remains steadfast in its mission: “Always Ready Always There.”
