Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta explains the American tradition of military challenge coins to cadets from the People's Liberation Army Armored Forces Academy in Beijing, China, on Sept. 19, 2012. Panetta also met with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and his defense counterparts to discuss regional security issues of interest to both nations. Panetta visited Tokyo, Japan, before continuing to Beijing and will travel to Auckland, New Zealand, on a weeklong trip to the Pacific.
