U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Steven J. Zandstra, with Police Adviser Team 1, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, shakes hands with an Afghan child during a security patrol with Afghan Uniformed Police officers through the northern bazaar in Sangin, Afghanistan, on Nov. 1, 2010. The battalion was one of the combat elements of Regimental Combat Team 2, whose mission was to conduct counterinsurgency operations with the International Security Assistance Force.
