Thomas Hutton's parachute aboard a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., prior to a strategic brigade airdrop exercise over North Auxiliary Airfield, S.C., on Dec. 16, 2009. Hutton is assigned to 1st Battalion, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. U.S. soldiers and cargo pallets were airdropped during the exercise to simulate the seizure of a remote airfield, providing a joint training opportunity for airmen and soldiers. The training mission included airdrops over North Auxiliary Airfield, aerial refueling and simulated aeromedical evacuation.
