A U.S. Navy flight deck crewman directs an EA-6B Prowler aircraft onto the steam catapult for launch from the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) as the ship steams in the Pacific Ocean on Jan. 26, 2007. The all-weather Prowler provides protection for strike aircraft, ground troops and ships by jamming enemy radar, electronic data links, communications and obtains tactical electronic intelligence within the combat area. Stennis is under way in the Pacific en route to the U.S. Central Command area of operations.
