Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England (left) passes a Memorandum of Understanding on the Joint Strike Fighter program to Netherlands Deputy Secretary of Defense Cees van der Knaap (right) during a signing ceremony in the Pentagon on Nov. 14, 2006. The memorandum concerns details of future cooperation in the production, sustainment, and follow-on development of the aircraft program. The Joint Strike Fighter is the largest ever U.S. Department of Defense acquisition program.
