U.S. Navy flight deck crewmen give the thumbs up to signal everything is okay for the catapult launch of an EA-6B Prowler from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in the Persian Gulf on Feb. 4, 2006. The all-weather Prowler provides protection for strike aircraft, ground troops and ships by jamming enemy radar, electronic data links, communications and obtains tactical electronic intelligence within the combat area. The aircraft is attached to Electronic Attack Squadron 141. Roosevelt and its embarked Carrier Air Wing 8 are conducting maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf.
