Flight deck crew members assigned to Fighter Squadron 31 give a thumbs up to indicate that their squadron's F-14D Tomcat is safe for launch from the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) on Nov. 26, 2005. Roosevelt and its embarked Carrier Air Wing 8 are conducting flight operations in the Persian Gulf. The Tomcat is assigned to Fighter Squadron 31 of Naval Air Station Oceana, Va.
