Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force, talks with Chairman of Defense for Singapore Lt. Gen. Ng Yat Chung at the Istana in Singapore on June 3, 2005. Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers and Singapore's Acting President Sim Kee Boon earlier awarded Myers the Singapore Distinguished Service Medal at the President's residence. Myers is in Singapore to attend the 4th International Institute for Strategic Studies Asia Security Conference: The Shangri-La Dialogue with Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld. The award is the highest that can be given to a foreigner by the Republic of Singapore.
