Petty Officer 3rd class Danier Haarliammert kisses his girlfriend Jennifer Filson after returning to San Diego, Calif., aboard the USS Preble (DDG 88) on Dec. 17, 2004. The destroyer Preble was one of several U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and coalition ships that shared the responsibility of patrolling and safeguarding the waters near the Khawr AL Amaya and Al Basrah oil terminals in the northern Persian Gulf. Haarliammert is a Navy aviation electronics technician.
